ATEEZ dropped their new music video for Answer! I’m not familiar with this group but let’s take a look at what they have.
This is overall a solid music video. The reason why I wouldn’t put it at 10/10 is because I personally don’t find it very special, nor did it leave a strong impression on me. From a visual and design point of view, there’s nothing particularly wrong as I think they did most of it right.
SONG
I can say I definitely like the simple background track especially at the beginning. It’s impactful but not distracting. Vocal and rap wise, nothing to pick on, but also nothing that left a strong impression.
CONCEPT
It’s hard to pinpoint a clear concept for this. The sets relate with each other in certain elements and colors but no real overarching theme. Clothing wise, each scene also varies quite a bit. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation.
That being said what they do have, I like individually. It’s just hard to find the relation with each other.
To be picky, I would point out this fabric thing going on. I would have suggested another pattern or shade maybe to match the warm tans that appear later. This would be cohesive with the rest of the video but still provide color contrast in these particular scenes.
The desert is a little random but aesthetically it works very well.
My favorite moment is probably this scene here where the same people are on each side but dressed differently.
